We provide service to most areas across Alberta, including urban and rural regions. However, some areas, such as Rural Electrification Areas (REAs) and Natural Gas Co-ops, may not be eligible. To check if we cover your address, contact us or visit the UCA Helps.
Electricity and natural gas rates fluctuate over time. At Choice Energy, we want you to be on the best rate possible. If your current rate is lower than our posted rate on the website, you likely secured it during a period of lower market prices. In that case, it’s generally best to stay with your current provider until your contract ends. When your contract is up for renewal, we recommend checking the Choice Energy website to find the most competitive rate available at that time.
We receive your usage data from your local distribution company. If actual readings aren’t available, we estimate based on your historical usage and adjust when the real data is available.
No problem! We don’t charge exit fees for electricity contracts. However, for fixed-term natural gas contracts, a $250 cancellation fee applies—this is a pass-through charge from our supplier. If you're on a variable-rate plan, there are no exit fees for either electricity or gas.
